Pregio @ Metrotown, KK

Nice coffee in the town..

Where to find a cafe serving a decent cup of coffee in KK, Sabah? Pregio is a Hong Kong imported brand name, which is located next to Grabbing Hands in Metrotown, and is undoubtedly serving one of the best coffee in KK.

Recently, coffee trend is getting popular in West Malaysia, nevertheless, the East side follows the trend as well. However, it is a bit difficult to find a cafe that really serves pretty good coffee in KK. Out of the rarity, Pregio provides satisfactory cup of coffee brewed from quality coffee beans, further enhanced by their barista's skillful foaming and art work.

Generally, Pregio has the normal menu and dinner menu for the daily selections. Subsequently, they offer special Sunday brunch menu, only available from 9.30am until 6pm every Sunday.
Ordinary menu items includes salads, pastas, pizzas, and desserts.
Dinner special menu @ RM28 each -
Main course comes with a starter & a dessert.
Sunday special brunch @ RM15
- served with a glass of guava juice.
(Any beverage ordered with this menu item will enjoy a RM2 discount).

Apart from serving the normal coffees (espresso, macchiato, americano, cappuccino, latte & mocha), Pregio has flavoured latte with wider choices for your preferred syrups. For instance, they have the caramel, macadamia nuts, hazelnut, vanilla, as well as the ginger bread flavour.
Iced mocha (RM12)

Iced Americano (RM9) with a rather bitter taste.
Hot cappuccino (RM10) with silky foam and heart-shaped art.
Hot mocha (RM11) with balanced, adequate portion of chocolate & coffee,
very smooth. The nice coffee art definitely delight us the entire day hehe.
Hazelnut latte (RM11) has nice fragrance & smoothly made foam.
Too bad that no art was drawn here. =X

For a chilling cold coffee in KK's such hot weather, Pregio has the special iced caffe banana.
Caffe banana (RM12) is a combination of espresso with the banana milk.

Pregio's extraordinary one comes to its single origin specialty coffee brewed by a syphon or a hand dripper. This is a method of brewing the coffee through pouring water over roasted, ground coffee beans contained in a filter. It might be scarce to find this kind of coffee here in KK, as the demand is very few, and many are believing that a french-pressed method is much better and appropriate.
Single origin specialty coffee is brewed by the hand dripper, by drips.
Columbia, Brazil & Ethophia originated coffee beans.
Normally, costa rica is the better option due to its well-balanced bitter & sour taste.
Nonetheless, Columbia's is not a bad option though.

Of course, Pregio has beverages with no caffeine too.
Apple juice freshly made from the fruits.
Guava juice served along with the Sunday brunch.
Hot honey lemon
Iced chocolate

As aforementioned, Pregio does sell food like salads, pastas, and pizzas.
Pumpkin soup is very nice as it is thick enough and silky creamy.
Linguine aglio-olio with tomato and mushroom - average only,
the taste was too light that we could barely taste anything.
Pizza smoked salmon & pesto - taste delicious with its
crispy thin crust & cheesy salmon, mushroom, pesto fillings.
Cheesy breakfast sandwich -
ham & mushroom sandwich topped with a super cheesy toast.
Pregio's Sunday special -
egg benedict & tomato bruchetta on toasted baguette.
The sides - potato salad is awesome!
Tortilla wrapped - wrapped scrambled egg inside, topped with tomato salsa.
Spaghetti with tomato sauce & parsley
Waffle with seasonal fruits
Panna cotta - tasty & with nice texture, smooth and bouncy.

To wrap up everything, Pregio has the pros in:
- Nice coffee (more towards the mild one).
- Mocha with nice chocolate.
- Handcrafted coffee with well-balanced taste & strong fragrance.
- Nice desserts.
- Friendly staff.
