Mosaic @ Hyatt Regency Kinabalu

A stylish sidewalk cafe..

If you are searching for a quiet and romantic cafe/restaurant to date with your love one, Mosaic could be one of your choices. Located right opposite to the Upperstar at Segama, Mosaic is operating under the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kota Kinabalu.

Mosaic is a small-sized Western restaurant, but is romantic with its dim lighting & comfy environment.

The menu is simple with only a few choices printed, selling at rather reasonable price if compared to other high-end restaurants.

Furthermore, Mosaic is thoughtful in the sense that it provides the opportunity for a healthy balance person to create his/her own meal, by selecting the main dish, sauces & sides according to personal liking or specific needs.

Crunchy toasted bread are served before the meals are ready.

From the short list of menu items, we had their mushroom soup, salmon pizza, and wagyu beef burger. Others than these, there are salad, sandwich, spaghetti, and meats like sirloin steak and grilled chicken leg.
Mushroom soup serving in a bread bowl.
The soup is creamy and thick with its rich ingredients.
Bread bowl has decent taste but was a bit hard to bite.
Wagyu beef burger served with onion rings & french fries.
The beef patty is juicy with the cheesy cheese melted on.
Salmon pizza with a generous amount of smoked salmon slices.

For such heavy meals, a glass of lemon tea would be better to resolve your thirstiness in addition to decrease the greasiness.
It is good that sugar water is given separately,
we can adjust the sweetness ourselves. ;)

Otherwise, a pot of flower tea would be a better option as well.

For their desserts, Hyatt has been popular for its cakes that taste awesome all these whiles. Mosaic has mouth-watering cakes too, but not sure if they taste the same way as well? hmm..

Moreover, Mosaic produces homemade ice cream, where the flavours are different depending on the daily availability.
Green tea, strawberry & chocolate ice cream.
It was disappointing that they are not too special,
and melted so fast.

Last but not least, freshly baked breads are sold in Mosaic too.

Prior to its limited food items, it is a bit boring to visit Mosaic over and over again. However, a tea session will be nice. Noticing that there is a tea promotion written on the board, I would be more tempted to have their cake and a cup of coffee next time. ;D

Nevertheless, it was a nice dining session with my old best buddies!

Lucy's Kitchen @ 88 Marketplace

The kitchen of Lucy..

Locating at 88 Marketplace as the first outlet, Lucy's Kitchen has another branch placed at Metrotown. After the renovation, Lucy's Kitchen at 88 Marketplace turns out to be more classy and spacious.

The menu comprises of local and Western food, as well as a wide range of desserts.

For the local meals, there are Malaysian's favourites like char kuey tiaw, mee mamak, and fried rice. They even serve curry salmon fish head or asam fish that comes with two plates of rice, which indeed can be shared by four persons.
