MiniME Cafe @ Oasis Square

Mini..ME?

Kicked start the business with a cute name, MiniME Cafe is hiddenly located in Oasis Square, Ara Damansara, right opposite to the Purple Pasta Cafe.

MiniME Cafe did put some creativity effort in turning the entire environment into a cozy, homey cafe.

East meets West cuisine..
MineME Cafe serves local & Western cuisines to fix our cravings for both at once. Local food like laksa siam, basmathi rice, and banana fritters could be found here.

Nonetheless, I opted for a Western dinner during my visit to MineME Cafe couple weeks ago with my besties.
Menu is simple with a few clear choices in every category,
good for the dilemma choosers. =P

Starting from the small bites..
MiniME prawn star is our Malaysian's so called "cucur udang".
Huge proportion of prawn fritters were served with their homemade peanut sauce.
Cucur udang is crispy enough, but too much flour was battered
where we could only get a super small bite of prawn on it.
The homemade peanut sauce taste just like curry sauce.
Mermaid's Quest served as four mini tacos, respectively topped with soft shell crab, squid, fish, and tempura prawns.
The thickness of the taco is just nice.
Additionally, sprouts are served along with the fried stuff,
making it less greasy.

MineME platter is their signature platter served with BBQ beef short ribs, Southern-styled fried chicken, soft shell crab mantou and purpleslaw.
I love this platter so much amongst their bites.
BBQ beef rib is juicy enough with their well mixed BBQ sauce.
Fried chicken is just normal, while the
soft shell crab mantou is crispy enough for my liking.

Moving towards to their main course..
"Silence of the lambs" are medium grilled New Zealand lamb shoulders served in their homemade black pepper sauce.
Lamb is tender and their homemade black pepper sauce is good.
The white sauce serving apart taste like sour cream sauce,
which is not my kind of choice.
I like the grilled beetroots and potatoes though.

Signature lamb shank is braised and slow cooked up to a super soft texture.
The braised lamb shank is very soft and juicy,
served with grilled beetroots and potatoes, cauliflower puree,
topped with reduced balsamic glaze.

Skinny chicken is the best option for the dieters. We were actually ordering the spring chicken, but this was served instead. Seeing that their business was quite busy at that time, so we didn't ask for a change.
Full chicken breast is poached, super skinny, and no fats at all.
To enhance its taste, pumpkin mash was to be comsumed together.

It is an innovative way to make it not too dry and tasteless.
This is indeed a super healthy plate for the dieters. x'D

A meal would not be comprehensive without a dessert..
Banana fritters ("best gilers") were sold off unfortunately, therefore we go for their pancake - berries or me.
Slices of pancakes were topped with yoghurt, blueberries, and
blueberry sauce. The pancake has slight crispy crust,
and I like the concept of serving it with the yoghurt.
However, we could not finish it up to the last bite as we found it too dry
when there was no more yoghurt to accompany with. x'D

Furthermore, for a cold dessert, you should try MineME's signature popsicle homemade ice cream serving in different kinds of flavours. For instance, durian, mango, grape, etc.
Besides than that, you could come here merely for a high tea session too,
by ordering a slice of cake to complement with your cup of coffee.

That would probably be my next visit plan to MineME Cafe - a coffee, cake session. =P

Sangkaya @ Damansara Uptown

Thai Coconut Ice Cream..

Originated from Chatuchak in Thailand, Sangkaya has commenced its coconut ice cream business in Damansara Uptown, same row as the Coffee Library Bar

Previously, Sangkaya was only a mini ice cream stall in Jalan Alor. Prior to its good feedbacks, Sangkaya has tremendously grown up its business, from a stall into a shoplot, from a shoplot into branches. Other branches are now available in Subang SS15, Bangsar, Ampang, etc.  More and more branches would be subsequently opened up too in near future.

"NUTS about COCONUTS" conveys our intense feelings of love towards coconuts

By placing beach tables and chairs in the shop, Sangkaya provides us a feeling of relaxing by a beach side.

Menu is pretty simple, where we could only get to order either the ice cream, water, or milkshake.

Sangkaya uses genuine, finest ingredients in producing their ice cream, with no artificial additives or preservatives added. Real Thai coconuts are used instead.
Several scoops of coconut ice cream were added to blend as milkshake.
I could imagine how sinful I would be if I ordered that. x'D

Most of the customers have their signature coconut ice cream served in the coconut hulk. Apart than this, there is Thai iced milk tea ice cream too.

Subsequently, we could add on any of their 6 toppings as much as we like.
Cereals, roasted peanuts, nestum
Corn flakes, sweet corns, kidney beans,
as well as chocolate sauce.

As a result of greediness... xP
The coconut ice cream is very soft and refreshing,
sweeter and creamier than what I had tried before in Thailand.
Sweet corns are best match with it !

To cure my thirstiness, I subsequently gave a try to their fresh Thai coconut waterIt was claimed that no sugar was added, yet it is sweet enough.

Since Sangkaya started its business, it is always packed during the weekends. For country like Malaysia which is having hot weather most of the times, I believe that Sangkaya would be one of our best options during the hot days.
