McCafé by McD

Don't feel like drinking Coke? Coffee then! ;P

Since McDonalds in Malaysia were renovated to embody McCafé, now u can visit McD for not only their burger meals, u can also have some coffee and cake like what u had in other cafés.
P/S: For your information, normal McValue meals' soft drinks could be exchanged with coffee at extra amount paid.

McCafé has currently incorporated in 24 McDonalds outlets, and my preferred outlet is the one in Centre Point as its McCafé is opened up to late hours. McCafé sells varieties of hot coffees at reasonable price and its coffee is brewed perfectly nice!
Hot latté with a ♥ shape on. ;D
Hot cappuccino with nice coffee art. ;)
McCafé's cute mug with a questionable equation inside. ;O
Others that these, there are flat white, americano, espresso, and espresso macchiato. Hot mocha is also available at slight higher price. For those who does not want to consume caffeine drinks, there is hot chocolate! ;D

There is specialty tea as well, @RM5.50/packet.
Here's the jasmine & earl grey tea!

Besides the hot ones, McCafé is selling cold coffees as well. They are almost similar with the hot ones, except the iced caramel latté & iced hazelnut latté. The iced mocha is nice for a mocha lover like me! =P

Iced mocha

The most attracting part of McCafé is that it sells frappés as well. McCafé offers frappés from flavours of espresso, mocha, chocolate, and mango. I had only tried the mocha frappé and it tastes nice, my next try would be the mango one hehe..
Mocha frappé with whipped cream! Yummy!

By the way, according to my UK bestie, UK has more flavours on frappés & they do have fruit smoothies as well. U can surf the international McCafé's website to find out different flavours in different countries! ;)
UK's iced fruit smoothies & frappés.

Drinks can cure ur thirstiness, but not ur empty stomach! =P Haha.. McCafé also offers cakes and muffins. For cakes, there are blueberry cheesecake, mocha marble cheesecake, strawberry butter cake, chocolate lava cake, and brownie. For muffins, u can choose either the banana walnut or the double chocolate chip.

A nice coffee is best accompanied with a dessert.. ;D
The brownie is reheated and served, hot enough & delicious!
Chocolate lava cake with liquid chocolate inside. =)
U must have it while it is still hot, else it will melt.
This is a MUST for chocolate lovers, but it is a bit over-sweet when u have it till the last bite.. xD
Strawberry butter cake, tastes okay only..

McCafé has nice coffees and desserts for us to sip and taste when we are over-stressed. Moreover, caffeine makes us stay awake to study at a longer hours! xP
Nice coffee, quality study! xP

HELLO KITTIESSS:"So, what are u waiting for now? Faster drop by at your nearest McCafé & have a cup of coffee! Hohoho~!" ;P

OR... u can...

Drop by early in the morning to takeaway & kick-start ur brand new working day! =)

Farrari @ Lintas Square

Farrari or Lamborghini? =P

Farrari restaurant & bistro has been opened for some time at Lintas Square. It serves both western and local cuisine, at reasonable price.
Their food are shown on the signboard outside. =)

Farrari has very comfy environment, with nice sofa seats and TVs. Never heard from any friend suggesting this place, until I got to visit here for my very first time. Out of expectation, it was very packed. ;O

The menu offers quite big varieties of food from pastas, chops, rice, and noodles. Others than that, u could find oysters selling here as well.
P/S: They have set lunch @ RM11+.

For their drinks, Farrari has their signature milk tea, which I found that it is nice in the sense that it uses Gula Melaka instead of normal sugar. Besides that, u can also order tea from pot from few choices of Jasmine tea, Rose tea, Peppermint tea, etc. Of course, they have other common drinks that we could get in any restaurants. =D

Farrari signature milk tea, with herbal jelly.
Jasmine tea, served in a small, cute tea pot. ;D
English tea, served with creamer & sugar water.

For their western food, Farrari has more selections for their chops. Instead of serving only the normal chicken chop and lamb chop, Farrari has the sizzling ones. Others than that, their chops are marinated with their own sauce, which tastes better than the normal mushroom sauce.
Garlic Goma Chicken -
Grilled chicken chop in their own special brown herbs garlic sesame sauce.
Sizzling lamb shoulder served with baked potato, seasonal veggies & corn on the cob.

Q: What I love about the sizzling ones?
A: The sizzling butter sauce that enhances the chops' tastiness! ;)
Lamb shoulder, served with mashed potato & seasonal veggies.
Wat-tan-ho with seafood and vegetables.

Farrari's food does not taste bad at all. I found that their chops are actually nice as their meat is quite tender. Instead of chopping off a lot of fats from lamb chop we used to get in other restaurants, Farrari's lamb chop is full of meat & we can hardly find fats. Moreover, their chops are served with baked potato, mashed potato, and veggies, which is more of a healthier concept than serving with fries.

However, their wat-tan-ho was average only. Having no chance to try their local cuisine, therefore I have no idea of how they would taste like. But frankly, Farrari has nice western food. I might love to try the chicken rollade (chicken fillet rolled with ham & cheese) or the braised lamb shank on my next visit.

Thank you Tommy for suggesting this place,
otherwise I would never step into here haha. xD

Well, everyone would love this:

Mai Bar @ Aloft

Tiki-themed Rooftop Bar..

There are quite a few rooftop bars in KL, and normally people are more familiar with the 'Sky Bar' or the 'Luna Bar'. However, I found this place is quite cool even though it is smaller  than the two rooftop bars aforementioned.

Mai Bar is a Polynesian-styled rooftop bar located at the highest level of the Aloft Hotel, which is right beside the KL Sentral. Others than Mai Bar, there is a W xyz Bar for playing pool & Nook for buffet dinner at RM78+.

Heading up to the rooftop bar, u could see Mai Bar in blue, with a nice pool outside.
Pool:

Let's has a glance on Mar Bar's indoor bluish bar! Under the blue lights, everyone turns into blue colour, just like...Avatar? Haha.. xD

The ambiance is awesome & we could just relax and sit back and enjoy our weekend here, with nice lighting indoor, and nice city view outdoor. Me, Amelia, and Rachel did have our pleasant & relaxing time here! x)
ME, specially thanks Amelia for this nice photo! ;)
Amelia, my best friend who knows all the cool places! xP
Rachel, the great poser! xD my best buddy who goes everywhere with me,
trying out all the nice places, food & drinks! ;P

The menu offers quite big varieties of alcoholic drinks, causing us to spend some time on deciding which one to have. There are some cocktails with bizarre names, that I found them interesting, but was not daring enough to have a try. =\

Finally, we had our choices of drinks in mind, but after recommended by the waitress, all of us ended up ordering the same drinks, their signature cocktail - Mai Tai. Aww..well, we are just too easy to be influenced haha. =D
Mai Tai is a classic Tiki-cultured cocktail, comprising of
rum, orgeat, orange curacao, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup.
'Mai Tai' originates from Tahitian phrase, meaning 'good'! Somehow, we heard the waitress mentioned it as the 'princess' hmm.. *curious*.. Btw, the cocktail tastes nice & the tiki mugs are way too cute..!!! ;D

P/S: There is happy hour price for Mai Tai, before 9pm (around RM19+).
We are posing with our cute tiki mugs!!! hohoho~! ;D

Snacks were served along with our drinks! =)

Having some nice time inside, we moved on to the outdoor to watch the nice scenery of KL city view by the poolside. Basically, Mai Bar is of Tiki-themed and the design is extraordinary with all the 'Tiki God' faces around, including all their pillars! ;)

Sitting/Laying on the beach bench by the poolside, sipping ur cocktail while enjoying the nice city view would be the most blissful thing u could do after a long, hectic working day! xD

Although Mai Bar is only a 14-leveled rooftop bar, we could still see the nice city view clearly (maybe just a bit distant from seeing the KL tower & KLCC only).
Amelia, photoshooting with the Hilton hotel (right opposite only)
& the KL city view behind. ;D

Mai Bar is definitely a nice rooftop bar for us to chill out & has some de-stress moment. It is a Tiki-cultured bar, with romanticised conception of primitive tropical cultures of Polynesia. Being dull to hangout in a normal bar, why don't u take an opportunity to visit this themed rooftop bar? hehe.. u will definitely love it!
Right place, with right time & the right buddies!
Happy weekend, peeps! ;P

Sisters Dessert @ Damansara Jaya

Tong Sui & Kuih-muih..

Sisters Dessert has recently resumed its business in a shoplot in Damansara Jaya, nearby to the Hong Kong dim sum restaurant, Jin Xuan. Previously, it was operated in a food stall at Taman Megah.

The new shoplot is pretty clean and neat, with a better environment for the customers to enjoy their homemade desserts.

Sisters Dessert sells varieties of Malaysian's favourite kuih-muih, as well as nasi lemak, economic fried meehoon, and some other home-cooked dishes.
Their food is cheap and reasonable.

Upon their opening ceremony on the 31st of May, they offered all their desserts to be dined in @ RM1 only. We were tempted by this but prior to its operating hour, which is opened from 11am to 6pm only (Rach needs to work la ><), we could not make it. Haha, but.. nevermind for those who are working, you still can dine in on any Saturday, as their normal price isn't expensive though. =P

So, on the second day it commenced its business, I went there with my another two friends for our proper lunch. Oops..don't be shocked by the food consumed by three girls, we are greedy eaters! xP
The fried chicken is fried to the perfect golden-brown complexion, crispy and nice!
Similarly to their fried fish ball, unconsciously brought back my high school memories, when I used to always bought it from my school canteen during recess time! ;D

Fried meehoon, and bitter gourd chicken.

The kuih-muih sss...
The 7-layered kuih we used to eat in Lido market, but this was so so only. =/

The glutinous rice ball (the so-called 'hak lon da fun' in my hometown.. xD)
This was nice as the glutinous rice (a.k.a. mochi) is 'elastic',
nice to chew and not stickjaw.

I love the peanuts with sugar wrapped inside, they were savoury and crispy! x)

Of course, we did not miss out trying their dessert soup (tong sui)..
The black glutinous rice soup has plenty of glutinous rice,
but i prefer it to be more undiluted.

The gingko barley soup has nice barley and gingko nuts,
it would be better with some fu chuk as well! hehe..

The red bean soup would be nicer if it is more concentrated too.. ;)

Sisters Dessert offers simple food, but 'simple' is its attracting point as we can have some usual home-cooked food and desserts here - to eat healthier! xD For my next visit, I would like to try their yam cake and bubur chacha hehe..

It was quite a budgeted lunch for us as we spent only less than RM10 for these per person. Thereof, it is suitable for anyone who desires to eat economically, as u can get some rice with dishes here just like in other 'zap fan' stalls, additionally with some kuih-muih and dessert soup to complement ur meal of the day!
