Yut Kee @ Dang Wangi

The Famous Kopitiam..

Over the years, Yut Kee is popular for its Hainanese meals and has always been nominated in the "best cheap eats"  of the Time Out KL Food Awards.

Located near to the Dang Wangi lrt station, Yut Kee is conveniently accessible and has always been crowded with all the working adults during weekdays' lunch hours.

You ought to name urself (by also mentioning no of pax)
to the boss at the counter to secure a seat beforehand.

Menu is listed on the white board like how other kopitiams do. It can be seen that the menu is a mixture of Hainanese, Chinese, and Western meals.

As a kopitiam, Yut Kee serves good traditional coffee, which is thicker and more concentrated.

All these whiles, what makes Yut Kee to be outstanding from others is their pork meals. The Hainanese pork chop is one of its famous dishes, where the meat is tenderly and juicily cooked, further enhanced by the nice gravy.

The next one is the roti babi - pulled pork stuffed inside the bread and entirely enclosed by egg.

The roti babi did not taste too much special for us, it was oily indeed. We ate it plainly until we were taught to dip with the vinegar sauce. It did turn out nicer as the sauce has completely boosted up the taste.

And of course, the best one goes to Yut Kee's roasted pork roll. Crunchy skin roasted up to perfection golden brown level, juicy meat, and uniquely made apple sauce. However, it is only available in the weekends (Friday-Sunday) from 11am onwards.

For a more fulfilling meal, Yut Kee has nice fried rice, noodles, and porridge.

Small eats like fried tofu could be found here too.

Furthermore, Yut Kee has one of the best kaya spread that I have eaten. Their kaya is rich in texture and adequately sweet. That is why they have nice french toast - contributed by the delicious kaya spread.

You can buy them in slice(s) or in a box of slices.

Despite of the crowds, dining in Yut Kee is never frustrating as they provide nice food with prompt service, thereof we will never wait too long to get starving.

Yut Kee is definitely a nice kopitiam that we could find in KL. For those who have never paid a visit here, you might give it a try sooner or later. It is more advisable to go in the weekends, thus having the opportunity to try their roasted pork roll at once. This is what we called "kill two birds with one stone"! =P

Ben's Satay Celup @ Pavilion Bundusan

Satay Celup Steamboat Buffet~!   oO0-

Finally there comes a satay celup steamboat place in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Ben's Satay Celup is located at Pavilion Bundusan, in buffet style @ RM28 per person (children RM14, kids below 4feet RM5).

A clean and tidy open-aired environment, serves no pork.

Ben's Satay Celup is not merely offering the satay soup base only. There are other choices like tomato, tom yum, and chicken soup as well. As it is operated in buffet style, to avoid severe food wastage, charges of RM10 is imposed on every 100g.

Drinks like buang panas, plum juice, and air bunga are provided.

Drink more to prevent urself from getting heaty! ;P

Food are varieties, fresh, and hygienically store in the fridge.

The dry stuff: vegetables, eggs, noodles...

Sausages, beancurd, balls etc (in satay stick form).

Fresh meat

No pork is found here, but there is ostrich meat - something special to complement the lacking one.

Apart from the chicken, there are Aussie lamb and beef. They are also presented in satay stick form. 

Furthermore, there are seafood such as cuttlefish, prawns, and shell-stuff.

The huge sotong is my favourite! hehe..

Yummy spices are sauces are available to be dipped with the food. For satay soup base with heavy taste of flavour, you can just consume the food without these.

Here's the satay & tomato soup base.

The steamboat pot is too shallow to soak the entire satay stick.
Taking the stuff out from the stick would be better. xD

Spicy satay sauce with peanut gravy.. (stir consistently to avoid burning, request for the chicken soup refill when necessary.)

Great service it has, and price is considerably reasonable for a steamboat buffet meal, not comparable to the one in Malacca, but at least it is good enough as being the first & the new one in Kota Kinabalu.

Malaysia's Largest Clothes Buffet 2014

If you can zip it, you can keep it ! ;O

Food buffet is everywhere out of common, but have you ever heard of the clothes buffet? Yes, Malaysia's LARGEST clothes buffet is here at the Taylor's University Lakeside Campus Syopz Mall, from 25-27April 2014 10am - 6pm.

What to remember?

If you can zip it, you can keep it ! =P

What does that mean?

First, you have to register yourself to enter the shopping area - 

RM60 per person per ziploc bag per session.

Next, you just have to bare in mind and comply with their 

rules & regulations during your shopping session.

SIMPLE RULES:
NO handbags, NO trying, NO refunds.
Grab as much clothes as you can & zip them into the given ziploc bag.
You can zip it, then they are ALL yours!
But.. Not to tear off the bag, else RM20 penalty is charged. ;O

Every session lasts for 15 minutes, and you can only purchase ONE ziploc bag per session per person, to enter the shopping area. You can register for many sessions though! ;D

Cute, small boards & banners are provided for you to have a pretty camwhoring session while waiting for your turn to shop! ♥

You are allowed to enter the shopping area when announcement is made. Don't break the rules & shop wise to harvest more hehe..

Others than the clothes buffet, Aussino is having their big sales booth there as well. It's time to change a new bedsheet..! xP

Of course, there is a small-scale bazaar to complement the entire event. Every booth is selling off their items at reasonable, cheaper price.

Well, if you did not able to get any stuff from the bazaar, nor harvest a lot in the clothes buffet... You don't have to be upset, there is a blowout sales @ the clothes buffet from 4pm to 6pm - every piece will be sold off at only RM10.

A simple, fast, bargained shopping session is what you opt for in the Malaysia's largest clothes buffet. "Shop wise to harvest more"! ehhehe...

So, here are what I managed to fit into my ziploc bag

from the 15-minute clothes buffet:

2 dresses, 2 belts, 2 homewear shorts, 1 skirt, 

2 singlets & 2 spaghetti strap tank tops! ;D

My bestie only managed to grab 5 pieces, which comprising of 1 jumpsuit, 1 cardigan, 1 chiffon top, 1 knitted shirt & 1 housewear shorts. Yet, it was still a good bargaining!

We were excited to try on our clothes once we returned home. x'D
