Gelare @ eCurve

I love waffles...

Recently, my freaky heart had been craving for a nice waffle all the times. After some times of yearning, finally I came to this waffle shop in e@curve (used to call it Cineleisure). Gelare has been operating here for years and I had almost forgotten its existence until my friend reminded me of this hehe..

Gelare is located at the Ground floor of e@curve. It is a nice cafe with the colourful wallpaper illustrating how people love eating their waffle haha..

To my knowledge, Gelare not only famous for their waffles, but also the pancakes. Too bad that I haven't get to try the pancakes though.

Looking at its menu board, Gelare sells waffles, pancakes, and ice-cream too. Gelare's ice cream is nice in the sense that they have rich and smooth texture which definitely make us opt for more. 

They have waffle in original, chocolate chip, and tutti frutti AND
we can choose to serve it with 1 up to 3 scoops of ice-cream.

Aww, this is so tempting for all the chocolate lovers!

They have varieties of nice ice-cream flavours that made me go headache in choosing which to be perfectly served with my waffle. Cookie dough, pistachio nut, raspberry sorbet, etc... 

So, here's my final choice! A regular waffle with a scoop of mocha chip ice cream. The waffle is very fluffy with slight crunchy at the edge. But I was wondering why was it not hot at all even it was just freshly made. Hmm...

Yes! A normal waffle isn't enough for a greedy eater like me hehe.. AND most importantly, how can i resist the calling of chocolate since Gelare seems to be strongly recommending this through the poster and promotion board. xP 

So, here I had the chocolate dipped waffle. Similarly, it would be nicer if it is hot.

After all, Gelare's waffle is nice but still there is room for improvement. I would prefer if it is crunchier and hotter. My craving has been half fulfilled after trying out the nice waffle in Gelare. Why was it half only? =P

Because I was missing the super crunchy waffle outside my uni, which is spreaded over with super thick layer of chocolate and peanut butter.. Yummsss

But it was disappointing that it wasn't as nice as before anymore.
No more that crunchy and no more thick spreads.

Here I am.. A happy kid with her waffle craving fulfilled~ xD

The Bee @ Jaya One

The Bee is buzzing around~

The Bee has opened their two branches in Malaysia. The one I visited - Jaya One's outlet and another one is situated in the Publika mall. Simple yet nice environment in Jaya One brought us a nice dining experience here.

tables are placed outdoor to occupy more customers.

There is a bar inside with a cake counter right at its corner, displaying the cakes of the day. Therefore, the menu does not list out any cakes choices. Every flavour is depending on its availability & we ought to have a look from the cakes counter ourselves.

The Bee sells Western meal with its burgers, pastas & sandwiches being the mains. Others than that, they have salads and also snacks like quesadilla & nachos.

For alcoholic drinks, The Bee serves mainly the beers and wines. Their choices are few but are of reasonable prices.

Before having the main, I had the chicken avocado salad as my appetiser. The avocado is blended into gravy sauce to pour onto the greens. The salad is nice as I personally love the avocado juice and most importantly, fresh greens are the fundamental clue to a great salad. 

For the main, as the choices are not of a wide range, I chose to have their recommended Bee Burger. The Bee Burger is made of their house-made fat, thick beef patty, and is enhanced with the turkey bacon, cheddar and pickles. What I found delicious in the burger is the beef patty, which is grilled to a juicy medium-rare, with appropriate tenderness & of great, fine ground beef.  

Moving to the cakes, I chose the tiramisu cake because it physically appeared to be kinda similar with the one in Alexis (FYI, I love the one in Alexis hehe..). However, this is farly behind the Alexis one. Its tiramisu and alcohol added are not up to a perfect portion & the caramelised nuts were not crunchy as expected.

Last but not least, what is the attraction point of The Bee?

- The Last Polka ice cream -

The Last Polka ice cream is available in several restaurants. For where I know besides than The Bee, it is sold in Fat Spoon @ Damansara Uptown too.

- So, what is so special about The Last Polka ice cream?

  Unique flavours such as teh tarik, salted gula melaka, nutella...etc. 

...AND of course, we came for its GUINESS flavour~

This is such an inordinary flavour,
where guinness beer's 'bitter' has been transformed into a 'sweet' ice cream.
It is special but a bit weird to have guinness in sweet taste. xD  

Oops! Since when Ivy has become the ambassador? xP

The Bee is worth a try and for my next visit, I would like to try its pasta. The Bee's ice-cream cakes would be my next choice too as the neslo and horlicks caramel flavours are quite tempting. Of course, The Last Polka Dot ice cream is a not-to-be-missed item in The Bee. I'm so gonna to try the nutella ice-cream! ;P

Bali Trip

Hello, Bali~!

Bali is famous for all the nice beaches that have attracted most of the foreigners who came for their water-activity-based vacations. Well, mine wasn't a perfect one as we did not get closer to the water, we got to visit a lot of temples instead. Haha.. Anyways, we had the opportunity to understand thoroughly the lifestyle and culture of the Bali citizens, who are majority believing in Hindu and Malay God. 

...... Yeah, 'eat, pray, love' definitely best describes Bali! =)

So, here I am to summarise my 4D3N trip in Bali as follows:  

1. We have booked the stay in Hard Rock Hotel earlier. However, it was a bit disappointing as nothing was really much special that could worth us to spend RM500 per person for the stay. However, their workers were quite friendly that we felt warm and homey.

Guitar-themed hotel, with daily buffet breakfast provided.

2. Chicken with edible bones - locating along the way from airport to our hotel. Yes, u don't have to doubt about this, the bone is really edible! xD (they even claimed that the bone is rich in protein!)

The original fried chicken & the salted egg flavour.

3. GWK Cultural Park - tourist spot with beautiful panoramic view & Kecak dance performance.

4. Jimbaran Beach - famous tourist spot for its seafood dinner by the beach, while watching the sunset scenery.

Seafood was not satisfactory & a bit pricey.
The grilled corn was nice instead! xD

5. Tegalalang - beautiful rice terrace located at the north of Ubud, Bali.

6. Mount Batur @ Kintamani - claiming as an active volcano that had erupted in 1968, Kintamani is a famous spot for tourists to enjoy the mount scenery while having their buffet lunch (though the food wasn't appetising =X)

  

7. Kopi Luwak Plantation (a.k.a. civet coffee) is where the beans of coffee berries are eaten by the civets & excreted to be processed into coffee beans with better quality.

8. Pura Tirta Empul is a Hindu temple which is famous for its holy water where Hindu Bali people go for purification. (P/S: Hoho, everyone ought to put on their saree before entering! xD)

9. Made's Warung is famous for the local Indonesian food, especially the nasi campur which mixes many stuff in a plate. Well, sate lilit (Indonesia's famous fish satay) is available too!

FYI, Bali is famous for the Bintang beer & Bali Hai beer hehe..

10. Pura Taman Ayun is the royal temple of Mengwi built in 1634 by a King of the Mengwi dynasty.

11. Beratan Lake in Bedugul, Bali is a shallow lake situated at the dock around Ulun Danu Beratan Temple.

12. Babi guling is one of the famous food in Indonesia. This was our favourite food in Bali as the pork was perfectly tender & delicious in different textures! It was served along with the soto soup as well. Yummsss...

13. Kuta beach is clean & nice. The most importantly, it is just locating at a walking distant from our hotel hehehe..

Well, at least we got to visit the beach finally! =D

14. Dulang Kafe nearby the Bali shopping mall is where we found to have nice ambiance, serving mixture of Indonesian and Western food.

We had the curry, oxtail soup, as well as Kahlua here!

15. Reggae Bar is located at Jalan Legian, the most happening road in Bali for its night bars & clubs! Woots.. Bali is undeniably a perfect party place as the alcohols are just too cheap in comparison with Malaysia's one. Nah! We just had to pay around RM3+ for a bottle of beer.. ;P

So, me & Rachel were ready to go wild in Bali! Are u? Huhu...

Lastly, here's the sweet souvenir from the Hard Rock Hotel, Bali. 

Haha, they have great photographer who taught us to pose cool! x)

Kindly remind that don't overspend till u finish all the rupiahs as u have to pay IDR150,000 for the airport tax upon departure from Bali. Hehe, play hard, play smart & spend smart ya! xP

Upstairs Cafe @ Subang SS12

Yes! It's upstairs.. =P

Located right opposite the Grand Dorsett Hotel in Subang SS12 near Sime Darby, Upstairs Cafe is at the upper storey of the Pizzeria Bella Italia.

Upstairs Cafe has nice and cozy ambiance inside, with some tables placed outside the balcony, giving us the homey feel. Albeit it is not locating at a popularly known area, it is always found to be packed.

The menu is simple with only few food choices written on the board. Different food items are available at different time.

Available only from lunch hour onwards (probably after 12.30pm).

Beverages sold are clearly written & they offer bottled drinks such as J2O & Lorina sparkling juice (displayed beside the counter).

Moreover, aftermeal desserts like cupcakes, cakes, and pies are displayed for sale, which is definitely a must-order-item for sweet-tooth like me! hehe..

Food are basically nice & are sold within a reasonable and affordable price range.

Mushroom bacon risotto with creamy, bacon-based broth @ RM10.90. 

Roast chicken sandwich @ RM8.

Nice bolognese @ RM8.90.

Creamy carbonara @ RM9.90.

Smoked salmon pasta with the combination of white & red sauce @ RM14.90
(a bit weird, merely white or red sauce would be better).

Beef lasagna @ RM9.

For the beverages, their cappuccino (has stronger caffeine) is always my preference.

For the desserts, Upstairs Cafe is probably having one of the most delicious cakes that I have tried. They have unique choices of cakes, which taste yummy!

One of the best red velvet cake that I had.

Nutella cheesecake is bottomed with the oreo crust &
topped with the oreo crumbs.
Can't really get the 'nutella' taste in the cheesecake,
but the oreo crust is definitely my love! 

Chocolate fudge cake with peanut butter cheese cream &
slight strawberry jam in the middle layer.
Peanut butter layers are awesome while the chocolate taste is less distinctive here.
Overall, i love the peanut butter cheese cream in terms of its taste and texture.

Carrot cake with walnuts is nice as it is less sweet.

So, for those who love to stay up longer chitchatting with your best friends in a relaxed environment, Upstairs Cafe is undoubtedly a nice place to chill - either for a simple nice meal or just a high tea session.
