吃好点 Dim Sum Yum Cha @ Kuchai Avenue

Siew Mai, Lao Sa Bao, Chu Cheong Fun...

Dim Sum Yum Cha (A.K.A. 好吃点) is a new place for us to have our Chinese traditional dim sum session. It is located at Kuchai Avenue, which is a new building opposite Kuchai Lama Snowflakes.

This dim sum restaurant brought me back to the Chinese New Year feel on my first visit. It is decorated 'reddish' with all the CNY decorations.

What are the differences of this dim sum place with the others?

1. Food items are ticked on a paper to order, unlike others that push the trolleys around for us to select.
2. More inordinary/special dim sum are available.
3. Tea is to be "self-serviced".
Tea pots & tea leaves are available on the shelf. We need to mix it
ourselves with appropriate amount of tea leaves & boiled water.

The menu has a wide varieties of dimsum, and there are some unique ones. For instance, the wasabi dragon rolls, lion beard balls, and chu cheong fun that comes in different kinds of flavours like miso tempura & chicken floss+seaweed.

Dim sum served are nice & appetising. However, the bad thing we found out was that their food quality varies, ie. delicious only when there is less customers. =S
Custard bun - Chinese calls it 'lao sa bao', quite a lot of custard
but would be better if there is more salted egg york sauce added.
Fried yam taro - a bit tasteless, don't know was it due to
the reduced quality on a busy weekend? hmm..
Ham sui kwok - Yummy crispy skin with its salted fillings.
But I had one bad experience on having it super flaccid. ><
Fried turnip cake - a.k.a. lo bak gou.
Stir fried nicely, but this has added more chili - spicier.
Mango crispy pouch - Prawns coated with fried crispy pouch,
serving along with mango sauce.
Siew mai - not bad, but still..
can't beat those in my hometown hehe.. =D
Steam beancurd rolls
Chu cheong fun in miso tempura flavour - this is mouth-watering
as it is special with its tempura fillings & miso sauce.

What else makes us unforgettable in this place???
- The laurel blossom cake
Guai fa gou with refreshing jelly texture & nice flower smell!
The best dessert to wrap up our nice dim sum session hehe...

Upon paying, AEON card members could show their member cards to enjoy 10% off on ala-carte menu with minimum spending above RM50 nett. Customers that park their cars in the basement parking could get free item within specific price range as well.

吃好点 Dim Sum Yum Cha is definitely worth a try as it serves nice dim sum with reasonable price. I have paid only less than RM15 for every visit here, yet I consumed quite a lot of food. The only thing that need to be improved is the reduced food quality on packed hours.
How can u resist the calling from Dim Sum? xD

Hohoho.. Since we were already at Kuchai Lama, how could we miss out visiting the next station for our cold dessert??? xD
Here we go! The flower pot from Food Talk..
(ice cream bottomed with nata de coco & topped with oreo with parsley)

Komugi Cafe @ Paradigm Mall

It's not only about the breads..

Komugi Japanese bread/cake shop has been recently expanded its branches over most of the crowded shopping malls. It was deemed to be only a bakery shop at my first impression, until I found out that it is also a cafe in Paradigm mall, as well as the Pavilion's outlet.

There are varieties of breads and cakes displayed for sale at the Komugi stall & everything looks attracting with their colourful displayed layout.

For outlets that have cafe attached to, you could just have a nice seat inside to have a pleasant lunch/tea time, with their nice coffee. (FYI, the pictures shown were all taken in Paradigm mall ;))

Komugi's menu - TABERU (literally means "to eat").
Basically, the menu consists of salad, soup,
sandwich, burger, pasta, omelette, pizza & udon.

Set lunch is available from Monday to Friday 11am-3pm, except public holidays & eve public holidays; depending on its availability.

By viewing the nice picture illustration on the menu, we chose to try their omelette & pasta.
Omelette sausage is simple only.
You could try the omelette cheese/mushroom.
Wafu Mentai Spaghetti is nice with its slight spicy tasty wafu sauce.
Upon serving, it smelled like body odour, but it was
unexpectedly delicious to be eaten in the mouth haha! =X
Well, the one that left me the entire day to recall fondly was its mushroom soup bread.
The mushroom soup is perfectly creamy and delicious &
the bread bowl is crispy - nice to dip with the mushroom cream soup!

These are our nice coffee serving with the adorable, cute coffee arts.
Hot cappuccino with TOTORO coffee art.
Hot latte with SMURF coffee art.
I think that it rather looks like POPEYE! LOL!
Roship tea

Others than that, Komugi is also well-known for its cakes. So, sweet tooth like us definitely could not resist the craving for them! teehehe...
Mango cheese mousse
Green tea tiramisu

The whole cake at size of 8" is available for sale as well.
You could order beforehand & redeem on your desired date. =)
Tofu cheese cake @ RM65 (before tax).
It tastes plain & we couldn't really describe what is the taste.. x'D

Komugi cafe is a nice place to have your afternoon tea, as they apparently serve nice coffee & breads/cakes. So, this is another nice cafe for you to dine in when you are heading to Paradigm mall next time! Cya..! ;D
A fruitful weekend with the SISTERS!

Bonjour Garden @ Kota Damansara

Bonjour, everyone..! =)

Bonjour Garden is located at the Central Park nearby Sunway Giza mall. It is an open-aired restaurant that serves a combination of Western, Italian, as well as local food; along with a patisserie.

Dining here is quite relaxing as the ambiance and surrounding environment is built to become a greenish and flowery, simple, yet romantic garden with a fountain placed right in the centre of the garden.
Can you spot the fish? xD

Right at one of the corner end, there is a pastry shopTheir breads are okay, but I would prefer breads that are freshly made on the spot with the heat yet remained, where the baking smell is still around hehe!
Besides than the 'pandora' that grabbed my attention,
the worker recommended me their best seller - some caramel cheese bread.
Here's the pandora, where the box is filled with chocolate,
and topped with pistachio nuts & icing sugar on the outer layer.

The desserts are displayed beside the cashier counter, there are cakes, puffs, and puddings - which seem to be normal only.

After settling on your seat, you could see the newspaper, namely 'The Bonjour Times'. Haha! Nope, it's not a brand-new newspaper name, it's Bonjour Garden's menu, with a little bit of creativity! xD
Bonjour! Nice to meet you! ;)
Food items are basically written on the board at the cashier counter as well.
P/S: Pls pay at the counter right after order. =)

The choices for food are quite a lot, comprising of their all day breakfast, steaks, pastas, pizzas, as well as sandwiches.
Mushroom soup is okay, nothing too special.
First thought was a baked mushroom soup, but it's not!
This is Bonjour seafood pie served along with potato wedges.
The pie is baked creamery with their thick white sauce,
with prawn, squid, dory fish & mussel inside!
Very 'seafood' kind of pie, nice but too full to have it till the last bite! =D
Nachos supreme is delicious with its tortilla corn chips smothered with
melted cheese, tomato & salsa, with peppers, chillies, onions, olives.
Nice try for such a Tex-Mex vegetarian delight!

Quesadillas have almost similar contents with the previous nachos,
just that they are lightly toasted, soft, flour Tortilla
 filled with juicy chicken strips.
Grilled salmon is suitable for the health conscious eater,
served with steamed fresh vegetables & mashed potatoes.
The special thing is the sauce - sour orange sauce,
rejuvenating, but a bit over-covered the taste of the salmon itself.
Mushroom cheese steak with a huge portion of steak smothered
with melted cheese & mushroom sauce, serving along with
garlic roasted potatoes and fresh vegetables.
Portion is satisfying but not to over compliment on the steak,
not the best taste and texture.. =D
Roasted chicken sandwich is not bad, not too dry
& has full fillings with nice mustard sauce.
Maybe only the capsicum couldn't be accepted by those who dislike.
Lemon tea frosty - recommended drinks.
But.. not a good comment from my friend haha..
Well, their drinks might be a bit disappointing, but no worries.. there is free sky juice served right beside the water fountain.
The iced sky juice is refreshing with its soaked pear.

Overall, it was a nice, relaxed lunch session in Bonjour Garden. I will not hesitate to visit it again in the future, credited to its nice environment and not-too-bad food hehe!
